“Carbon steel is of ordinary quality. Stamps"

According to the production method, a steel circle can be:

· Hot rolled (with and without special surface finishing);

· Forged;

· Calibrated (with and without special surface finishing);

Made from ordinary quality carbon steel hot rolled circle. Manufactured from alloyed structural steel without heat treatment and heat treated - TO (annealed, highly tempered, normalized or normalized with high tempering). hot rolled And forged circles.

Calibrated the circle can be cold-rolled or cold-drawn, made of high-quality carbon or alloy steel, processed by cold drawing with compression to improve resistance to mechanical stress and increase physical and plastic properties, and is cold-worked - H or heat-treated - T (annealed, normalized, hardened and tempered ).

Hot-rolled and calibrated wheels can be produced with a special surface finish: the quality of the steel surface is achieved by removing the surface layer (grinding, turning, roughing followed by polishing, rolling, etc.).

At the consumer’s request, a steel circle can be manufactured with a guarantee of weldability “sw”, which is ensured by the chemical composition and manufacturing technology.

The main components that make up the alloys used for the production of products, and the percentage of these components, as well as the grades of alloys are indicated in Table 1.

* Structure of a carbon steel grade of ordinary quality: “St” - steel, numbers - conditional number of the grade depending on the chemical composition, “G” - manganese with its mass fraction in steel of 0.8% or more, degree of steel deoxidation: “kp” - boiling, "ps" - semi-calm, "sp" - calm.

In the designation of grades of alloy structural steel, the first two digits indicate the average mass fraction of carbon in hundredths of a percent:

P - boron, Yu - aluminum, C - silicon, T - titanium, F - vanadium, X - chromium,

G - manganese, N - nickel, M - molybdenum, V - tungsten.

The numbers after the letters indicate the approximate mass fraction of the alloying element in whole units (the absence of a number indicates that the brand contains less than 1.5% of this element). The quality of steel is indicated at the end of the brand name: with the letter A - high-quality, with the letter Ш separated by a dash - especially high-quality.

In the production of steel circles, the content of phosphorus, sulfur, and residual copper is allowed, in percentages not exceeding the values indicated in Table 2.

table 2 Phosphorus, sulfur and copper content in steel circle

Hot-rolled steel circles with a diameter of up to 9 mm and calibrated with a diameter of up to 5 mm according to standards are manufactured in coils, with larger diameters in rods. Forged is supplied only in rods, because... manufactured with a minimum diameter of 40 mm

Application

Carbon steel circle is widely used in construction. For example, products made from steel grade St3 are used to reinforce reinforced concrete structures. Due to its high ductility, a steel circle of small radius is used for the construction of fences and arc welding of structural elements. Stands and household hangers are produced from a range of steels St3, St4, St5. It is also used in various forged products to create decorative elements.

Alloy steel products have high performance properties, therefore they are used in construction in areas with more severe climates and low temperature conditions.

A steel circle made of structural steel, after appropriate processing, acquires properties such as increased flexibility and superhardness. Many machines and mechanisms use springs made from a similar steel circle.

Table 3 aboutdeviations along the diameter of the steel circle, mm

According to the length of the rod, the hot-rolled steel circle can be of the following lengths:

· measured - MD,

· measured with unmeasured length - MD1,

multiple dimensional - CD,

multiple with unmeasured length - KD1,

· unmeasured - ND,

· limited within unmeasured limits - OD,

· limited with unmeasured length - OD1,

· in skeins - NMD.

For types of steel circles with irregular lengths, the presence of rolled products of irregular length is allowed in a quantity of no more than 5% (for hot-rolled) and 10% (for calibrated) of the batch weight.

Maximum deviations for the manufactured length for hot-rolled and calibrated wheels of cut and multiple cut lengths depend on the length of the product: for a length up to 4 m inclusive, the maximum deviation is +30 mm, from 4 to 6 m - +50 mm, over 6 m - +50 mm (for calibrated) and +70 mm (for hot-rolled circle).

Maximum deviations in length for a forged circle depend on the diameter: +70 mm with a diameter of 40-80 mm, +100 mm with a diameter of 80-150 mm, +150 mm with a diameter over 150 mm.

The maximum curvature values for round steel rods are given in Table 4.

Table 4

Maximum curvature of a circle per 1 m length, %

A steel circle made of carbon steel of ordinary quality has several rolled categories, which differ from each other by a set of standardized indicators and the steel grades used. Table 5 shows the ratio of steel grades and rolled products categories.

Characteristic

Application

On the surface, without cleaning, there may be individual rolled out bubbles and dirt, ripples, imprints, risks, in which deviations from the diameter should be within normal limits. Other types of defects were removed by the manufacturer by gentle cleaning or cutting, in which the diameter deviations do not exceed those indicated in Table 3.

Can be used without surface treatment

Defects as in group 1GP are allowed without cleaning. Other types of defects are removed by gentle cleaning or cutting, the depth of which does not exceed:

Used for hot pressure treatment

For diameters less than 40 mm - the sum of maximum diameter deviations;

With a diameter of 40 mm to 140 mm - 5% of the diameter;

With a diameter over 140 mm - 8% of the diameter.

The depth of cleaning or cutting is calculated from the minimum size of the rolled product.

Defects the depth of which does not exceed:

Used for cold machining by cutting

For a diameter less than 100 mm - a negative value of the maximum deviation;

For a diameter of 100 mm and more - the sum of maximum deviations.

The depth of defects is calculated from the nominal size.

Surface quality groups for a circle made of alloy structural steel are given in Table 7.

Single small risks, dents and ripples within half of the total maximum deviations. There are no hairs.

From 140 to 200

5% diameter

For a circle made of high-quality and high-quality steel of group 2, small hairs with a depth of no more than a quarter of the sum of the maximum deviations from the diameter are allowed, but not more than 0.2 mm.

From 80 to 140

Sums of maximum deviation values

Marking

Symbol diagram for a steel circle:

X 1 - manufacturing accuracy (accuracy class for hot-rolled - see table 3, quality for calibrated - see table 3, for forged - not indicated).

X 2 - curvature, deviation from flatness (class I, II, III, IV; quality h).

X 3 - diameter, mm.

X 4 - designation of the standard for the assortment.

X 5 - steel grade (see table 1).

X 7 - surface quality group (see tables 6,7,8).

X 8 - designation of the steel standard.

Marking example:

Hot-rolled round steel of normal rolling accuracy (B), curvature class II, with a diameter of 30 mm according to GOST 2590-2006, made of steel grade St5ps, category 1, group 1GP according to GOST 535-2005.

Advantages

· Circles made of structural steel (carbon and low-alloy) have good weldability, which is why they are widely used for the manufacture of building structures.
